Women's Hockey Hosts Lindenwood for CHA Series

The Penn State women's ice hockey team is set to welcome CHA opponent Lindenwood for a two-game series at Pegula Ice Arena starting on Friday at 2 p.m.

SCOUTING THE LIONS

Lindenwood is currently 10-13-1 overall and 5-6-1 in CHA play.

The two previously met this past November, resulting in a pair of Penn State wins.

Leading the Lions on offense is Morgan Neitzke who has recorded 21 goals and 12 assists for 33 points this season.

In the net stands Natalie Fernec who has made 535 saves resulting in a .884 save percentage.

HISTORY AGAINST LINDENWOOD

This will be the 50th and 51st meetings between Penn State and Lindenwood.

The Nittany Lions currently lead the series 32-11-6.

Penn State is currently on a 10-game winning streak against Lindenwood.

DESA RECORDS FIRST SHUTOUT

Sophomore goaltender Katie Desa recorded her first career shutout on Saturday's 5-0 win over Syracuse.

Desa made 12 saves on Saturday resulting in a .923 save percentage both on the day and on the season.

The shutout marked the third for the Nittany Lions this season.

APPROACHING 100 GAMES

Juniors Mya Vaslet and Karley Garcia played in their 95th and 97th career games this past week at RIT.

They sit just five games away for 100. There are currently eight Nittany Lions on the roster that have played in 100 games or more in their careers.
