Seven Nittany Lions Set to Compete in NFL Conference Championships

A total of 43 Penn State Football alumni are populating the rosters of 25 National Football League organizations. The Nittany Lions annually rank among the top 20 programs nationally in producing players in the NFL.

Following the second weekend of playoff action, Penn State has seven former players who are a part of all four NFL playoff organizations in the Conference Championships.

Playoff teams with Nittany Lions featured are as follows: 49ers (S Ji'Ayir Brown, DT Kevin Givens), Chiefs (OT Donovan Smith), Lions (FB Jason Cabinda), Ravens (DE Odafe Oweh, P Jordan Stout, WR Dan Chisena).

NFL CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP SCHEDULE

Sunday

AFC Championship (3 p.m. – CBS): Kansas City Chiefs at Baltimore Ravens

Nittany Lions featured: OT Donovan Smith (Chiefs), DE Odafe Oweh (Ravens), P Jordan Stout (Ravens), WR Dan Chisena (Ravens)

NFC Championship (6:30 p.m. – FOX): Detroit Lions at San Francisco 49ers

Nittany Lions featured: FB Jason Cabinda (Lions), Ji'Ayir Brown (49ers), Kevin Givens (49ers)

DIVISIONAL ROUND RECAP

Seven Nittany Lions advanced to the Conference Championship round following outings in the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs. Jordan Stout (169 punting yards) and Odafe Oweh (1 tackle) contributed to the Ravens' win while Jason Cabinda and the Lions head to the NFC Championship for the first time since 1991.
